I work as a night security guard at a desert mind tailings deposit cell in Utah were each night I am greeted with the friendly, lively flight of a pair of killdeer. They are so fasinating to watch and seem to fallow and play games with me, it will be sad to see them go.

Hey. I'm doing a project on killdeer birds for a class and I was wondering if people know any of their enemies. If so, please post them up.
Thank You,

I had originally written to find out if the killdeer is a nocturnal bird. I was given this website, but I cannot find anything in here telling me whether or not they are out at night. I have been hearing the sounds of killdeer outside my window as late as midnight - I'm sure it's killdeer. That's the information I would like to have, if anyone can help me out. Thank you.
