Raptors
A term for birds of prey or carnivorous birds such as eagles, hawks, falcons and owls.
Rectrices
Large feathers forming the tail.
Rookery
Refers to a nesting colony of birds and the breeding grounds of a colony.
Roost
noun - The support on which a bird or group will sleep or rest such as a perch. verb - The act of settling down to sleep or rest.
Rump
The area on the bird between the back and uppertail coverts.
