Aerodynamics
This refers to the interaction between gases, in this case air,
and solid objects that move through it, including forces exerted on
the object and how the air flows around it. Aerodynamics can also be
refer to the science of flight. Aerodynamics is what enables a bird to fly.
Afrotropical migration
Migration to Africa and the near East.
Altitudinal migration
Migration to different altitude levels in the same locality. Typically
practiced by mountain dwelling birds.
Altricial
Refers to chicks which hatch naked and blind in an immature and helpless state and
are therefore completely dependent on their parents for a length of time.
Aquatic
Refers to birds and other organisms which live in water.
Astronavigation
A birds ability to navigate by means of the position of the stars.
Australasian migration
Migration to Australia, the Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea.
