My bird just escaped....

I was putting food and the birds looked desperate to escape. So I put my body against the opening and the bird flew right under my legs... my parents are gonna kill me now. What should I do?

This happened to me before. What kind of bird is it?

They escaped out the door to the outside world? Put their cage on a porch with food and water in it with the door open. Put up fliers and call to them. Of course this is day 3 and I don't know if it has been to long to get them to return. If they were tamed they might stay near by and come back if they hear you calling to them. If they were untamed I think they are probably gone.
